There is a great debate going on for the past 20 years around whether or not your future is pre-determined for you or if there are some things you can do, in spite of circumstances, to succeed. The fair thing to do is say that everyone is right and let each person believe what they want.
We did come across a story about this African American senior citizen who has never made more than $12 an hour, has a learning disability that hinders his reading capacity and has four kids, who is now as wealthy as his white counterparts. Did we mention he lived through Jim Crow laws, the start of heavy racism, several stock market crashes – and still put all his kids in private schools because he did not want to send them to free schools?
How did he do it with so much stacked against him? Let’s watch.
