The Truth About Affirmative Action #RiseUp

This is part 2 of our revamped series #RiseUp

A basic definition of affirmative action is to give an advantage to one race/group over another, regardless of if they are qualified or not. Today we generally hear about affirmative action when it relates to minorities. In fact the majority feels this is an unfair advantage that discriminates against them.

But history tells us that in America, the majority created, used and benefited from this strategy for hundreds of years: one race was allowed to go to school, own property, build wealth, gain employment and so forth.

One would argue that Affirmative Action is basically using the same tactics the majority used before, to make the minority whole today. How could affirmative action be good for 400 years for one party, but not for another?
